www.watermillretreat.co.uk (only 10 minutes walk from the Awareness Centre) The mill nestles in peaceful seclusion in a remote valley surrounded by woodland. A mountain stream runs within feet of its stone walls. Its huge water wheel still turns, silently marking the years as generations of dippers and wagtails raise their broods, while salmon spawn in the river. This historic building was built in a valley already famous for a thousand years because of the Welsh legend, the 'Mabinogion', which records magical events by the Cych river. Many visitors say that they can still feel the enchantment at Godremamog today. There's lots to do for families, walkers, birdwatchers, cyclists and fishermen. Come and go as you please. "Cwtch up" in your cosy apartment. Explore the gardens, chill out in the summer house, watch the river from the pergolas in the garden. There are lovely walks directly from the mill. Although Capel Iwan village is just up the hill, you can't see another house from the mill and very few cars come through the valley.
